The Helper.
Jesus needed help carrying his cross and so do we. Our helper is one who helps us on the inside - the Holy Spirit. He dwells in us so
that we can bear fruit as it says in Matthew 27: 32
"And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross."
"And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross."
When we put on Jesus we put on our armour however; we have
free will and therefore can cause the Holy Spirit to frown when we splash
ourselves who are in Jesus black stains of this world.

Old Testament and New Testament correspond with each other as this rose does. One cannot use only part of an armour in war. |
So from my understanding, the helper is the Holy Spirit, but in this case he wasn't forced to help us.
John 14: 26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you." NASB
